Stray dog terror in the capital: Child severely injured

A child was severely injured following an attack by stray dogs in the Keçiören district of Ankara.

Fourth-grade student Tunahan Yılmaz, who received initial medical intervention at the scene, was taken to Hacettepe İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital for treatment. It was learned that Yılmaz remains in critical condition.

Neighborhood residents gathered at the scene expressed their discomfort regarding the stray dogs. Dicle Ergen, one of the residents, said, "There is a dog behind every rock. A solution needs to be found for this very urgently."

Middle school student Barış Karaağaç, who stated that the dogs roaming in packs chased him, said, "They were going to tear me apart; I hid inside a building out of fear. We are very anxious. The dogs jump over the school's garden wall. I am very afraid they will bite me; I cannot even leave the classroom," he stated.

INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

Local citizens reacted harshly toward a woman who was alleged by the neighborhood residents to be feeding the stray dogs. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
