Across Istanbul, 25 people were detained for collaborating with auto electronics shops to roll back the odometers of high-mileage vehicles on various dates, and subsequently selling them by posting advertisements on websites.

It was learned that the suspects, who were apprehended as a result of work carried out by teams from the Istanbul Public Security Branch Office Fraud Bureau following an increase in complaints, carried out the vehicle sales after obtaining "flawless" reports from appraisal firms they were also in collaboration with.

During the investigation, it was learned that detention warrants were issued for 27 people, and that 2 individuals were already in prison. A total of 25 people, including those who sold low-mileage vehicles in this manner to 26 people across Istanbul, as well as those who provided appraisal reports and the firm employees who rolled back the odometers, were detained.

The suspects, whose interrogations were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
