On the other hand, police did not allow some Syrians who wanted to gather in Esenyurt Square because they did not have permission.

Thereupon, those in the group who went to the side streets chanted and celebrated with joy.

A group of Syrians also gathered in front of the Syrian Consulate General in Istanbul in Şişli.

While police teams took extensive security measures in the surrounding area, the flag of the Assad regime on the balcony of the building was taken down.

Police and members of the press continue to wait in front of the consulate.
