This is not Damascus: Syrians across Turkey celebrate Assad's departure

Another Syrian, who stated that he has been living in Istanbul for about 12 years, noted that he came to Turkey during the war, is very happy now, has achieved his goals, and will return to his country.

A person in the group also expressed that they had been waiting for this day for a long time, that everyone was very happy, and stated that they would not forget what Turkey had done for them.

CELEBRATIONS IN ESENYURT

On the other hand, police did not allow some Syrians who wanted to gather in Esenyurt Square because they did not have permission.

Thereupon, those in the group who went to the side streets chanted and celebrated with joy.

A group of Syrians also gathered in front of the Syrian Consulate General in Istanbul in Şişli.

While police teams took extensive security measures in the surrounding area, the flag of the Assad regime on the balcony of the building was taken down.

Police and members of the press continue to wait in front of the consulate.

It was celebrated like a wedding by Syrians in Adana. A young Syrian said, "It is time to return to our country. The Turks were very good, we will miss you all."
