Tragic accident in Erzincan: 1 dead, 9 injured including 6 soldiers
A light commercial vehicle and a minibus carrying soldiers collided on the Erzincan-Sivas highway. One person lost their life in the accident, and a total of 9 people, 6 of whom were soldiers, were injured.
The accident occurred today at around 13:00 at the entrance of Teknecik village on the Erzincan - Sivas highway.
According to the information obtained, a light commercial vehicle with license plate 03 AYY 598 collided with an Isuzu-brand minibus with license plate 54 AFH 520, which was carrying soldiers and 2 civilians returning from a prisoner transport mission.
Due to the impact of the collision, the light commercial vehicle flew into the ditch. Yakup Demir, who was in the wrecked Fiat-brand light commercial vehicle, lost his life at the scene. A total of 9 injured people, 6 of whom were soldiers, were taken to Refahiye State Hospital and Erzincan Mengücek Gazi Training and Research Hospital by ambulances dispatched to the scene of the accident. It was learned that 3 of the injured are in critical condition.
Refahiye District Governor Halil İbrahim Köroğlu arrived at the scene of the accident to conduct investigations.
An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
