Violence in healthcare continues: Patient's relative breaks doctor's nose in Samsun!

According to the information obtained, a 2-year-old girl named M.D.İ. was injured after falling from a swing at their home. M.D.İ. was taken to a private hospital and placed under treatment in the emergency department.

Dr. Ahmet Kurt, who was on duty in the emergency department, was attacked by the child's father, H.İ., and his brother, Ş.İ., while he was waiting to examine the child's CT scan. While the computer in the doctor's office fell to the floor and was damaged, Dr. Kurt escaped the initial attack without injury. Police were dispatched to the hospital. Dr. Ahmet Kurt, who went to another room to examine the CT scan of the severely injured child, determined that the child had suffered a brain hemorrhage and decided to urgently transfer her to the Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

While Dr. Kurt was placing the child on a stretcher in the red room and explaining to the child's mother what she needed to do during the transfer in the ambulance, the child's father suddenly punched Dr. Ahmet Kurt, breaking his nose and knocking him to the ground. Covered in blood, Dr. Ahmet Kurt was taken to the Samsun Training and Research Hospital for treatment.

It was learned that the hospitalized doctor is in life-threatening condition. Dr. Ahmet Kurt stated, "While I was waiting for the scan of the child, who came to our hospital as a result of a fall, to appear in the system, her father and the child's uncle attacked me. I protected myself, but the computer was broken and the desk was damaged. When the police arrived at the hospital, I went to another room to examine the child's scan. There, I examined the film, detected the brain hemorrhage, and decided to transfer her to the Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. While I was explaining to the child's mother what she needed to do in the ambulance, the child's father attacked me with a punch."

H.İ. and his brother, Ş.İ., were detained by the police regarding the incident. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
