Warning of heavy rain and wind in the east of the country

According to the latest assessments by meteorological experts, partly to very cloudy weather is expected across Turkey today. Showers and thunderstorms will be particularly prominent in the east of Central Anatolia, the Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, and the west of Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. It has been reported that rainfall will be locally heavy in the vicinities of Osmaniye, Hatay, the west of Kahramanmaraş, Bitlis, Van, Hakkari, Şırnak, and Siirt.

While temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees in the western parts, thermometers in the interior and eastern regions will show values 4 to 6 degrees lower. In particular, in the southeast of Eastern Anatolia and the east of Southeastern Anatolia, winds are expected to blow strongly from southerly directions, reaching speeds of 40-60 kilometers per hour. Additionally, a warning has been issued for reduced visibility and a decline in air quality due to potential dust transport in these regions.

Citizens are advised to be cautious against negative conditions such as floods, flash floods, and disruptions in transportation in areas where rainfall will be effective. In the eastern provinces where winds will blow at high speeds, it was stated that precautions should be taken, especially against roof damage and transportation disruptions.

Fog and mist will be effective from time to time in the mornings in the coastal Aegean and Çanakkale vicinities, and at night in the Marmara, coastal Aegean, the east of Central Anatolia, and the Black Sea regions.

WEATHER BY REGION

While a partly to very cloudy sky will prevail throughout the day in the Marmara Region, fog and mist are expected in Çanakkale in the morning and across the general region at night. The temperature will be 20°C in Istanbul and 22°C in Kırklareli.

In the Aegean, intermittent showers will be seen, especially in the southern parts. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in Izmir at noon, and the temperature will rise to 26°C.

While intermittent showers will be effective across the Mediterranean region, rainfall is expected to intensify in the west of Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay. Antalya will reach 26°C and Adana 24°C.

In Central Anatolia (excluding Ankara and Eskişehir), showers and thunderstorms will be locally effective, with a possibility of heavy rainfall in the eastern parts during the noon hours. The temperature in the capital Ankara will be 17°C, and 22°C in Konya.

In the Western Black Sea, thunderstorms will increase in the afternoon in provinces such as Bolu, Düzce, and Kastamonu. Temperatures will be between 15-19°C across the region.

Strong showers are noteworthy in the Central and Eastern Black Sea. Samsun will be under rain with 16°C and Trabzon with 18°C.

In Eastern Anatolia, there is an expectation of heavy rainfall in the vicinities of Bitlis, Van, Hakkari, and Şırnak, along with strong winds in the southeast. Thermometers will show 16°C in Van.

While the Southeastern Anatolia Region will remain under intermittent showers, rainfall will intensify around Siirt starting from the noon hours. Wind will determine the agenda, especially in the eastern provinces. Diyarbakır will be 22°C and Şanlıurfa 23°C.
