Warning on 'phishing' for voters
The Presidential Digital Transformation Office has warned citizens who will vote in the March 31 Local Administration General Elections against the risk of 'phishing'.
In a statement issued by the Office, it was noted that "phishing" activities related to the local elections are being carried out via social media platforms or email accounts using the name and imagery of the e-Government Gateway.
The statement included the following:
"It is important for your information and communication security that you do not trust individuals who reach out to you by imitating the e-Government Gateway interface with titles such as 'Verify Voter Registration Information', 'Voter Registration Inquiry', or 'Your Polling Station Has Changed', that you do not share the personal data requested from you, and that you do not click on the links provided.
For your voter registration and information, please only refer to the official channels: the e-Government Gateway (https://turkiye.gov.tr), the e-Government Gateway Mobile Application, https://secmen.ysk.gov.tr, the Supreme Election Council's Voter Inquiry Mobile Application, and the Supreme Election Council Call Center (444 9 975)."
