Watch out for these 2 districts! Another warning from AKOM to Istanbul residents...

Istanbul will experience the effects of a storm and rainy weather over the weekend. 

According to IMM AKOM data, cold and rainy weather is coming to Istanbul this weekend. While temperatures are expected to drop to 4-8 degrees Celsius along with the storm, it is estimated that precipitation may fall as sleet and snow in the higher parts of the city. It is stated that the wind will blow at storm force (40-60 km/h) on Saturday, and at full storm force (80-100 km/h) with short-term gusts starting from the early hours (0:00) on Sunday.

 BEYKOZ AND ŞİLE WARNING

Due to the storm, it was stated that preparations should be made against the possibility of rising sea levels and subsequent coastal flooding on our southern coasts bordering the Sea of Marmara and our coasts in Beykoz and Şile bordering the Black Sea. 

The precipitation is expected to be effective between 22:00 on Saturday and 09:00 on Sunday, and the wind and storm are expected to be effective between 10:00 on Saturday and 15:00 on Sunday.

 WARNING TO ISTANBUL RESIDENTS

While IMM teams are kept on standby against potential negative incidents due to heavy rain and storms, Istanbul residents were reminded to be cautious against potential disruptions (such as falling trees, utility poles, flying signs and roofs, manhole overflows, flooding in underpasses and low-lying areas, puddling on roads, and disruptions in land, air, and sea transportation).
