According to the latest assessments by the Meteorology, strong (21-75 kg/m2) rain and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern part of Samsun, as well as in Ordu, Giresun, and Trabzon on Monday, October 9.

The precipitation is expected to fall as sleet and snow in high-altitude areas above 1800-2000 meters.

Citizens are urged to be cautious and take precautions against potential negative impacts such as flash floods, flooding, landslides, lightning, strong winds during precipitation, and disruptions to transportation due to the heavy rainfall. The precipitation is expected to begin at 09:00 on Monday, October 9, and continue until 18:00 on the same day.

STRONG WINDS AND STORMS EXPECTED

According to the latest assessments, strong winds and short-term storms (40-60 km/h, with short-term gusts of 70-80 km/h, especially in higher elevations) from the west and southwest are expected in the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia (Erzurum, Kars, Ağrı, Muş, Bitlis, Van, Hakkari, and Şırnak) on Monday, October 9. Warnings have been issued to be cautious and take precautions against transportation disruptions, roof damage, and poisoning caused by stoves and natural gas.

The wind and storm are expected to begin at 10:00 on Monday, October 9, and end at 19:00 on the same day.

WARNING FOR ISTANBUL

In a statement made on the social media account of the Istanbul Governor's Office, the assessments of the General Directorate of Meteorology were included, and the following statements were made:

“It is estimated that the wind will blow in the form of a storm in the Western Black Sea starting from the morning hours tomorrow. The storm is expected to lose its effect by noon on the same day. Caution and precautions should be taken.”
