Waterfall forms in historic bazaar in Bursa
Heavy rainfall that occurred in Bursa yesterday evening paralyzed life. Following the downpour, many places were flooded, and a waterfall formed in the towel sellers' section of the historic covered bazaar.
Following warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the downpour that began in Bursa last night brought life to a standstill. The heavy rain and hail that struck the Bursa city center brought traffic to a halt.
Rainwater pouring from the roof of the towel sellers' section in the historic Covered Bazaar created a waterfall. Traffic reached a standstill, and citizens were left stranded in their vehicles. A dispute broke out between the driver and passengers on a public bus over whether or not to proceed through the floodwaters. Citizens stranded in water accumulations in underpasses and streets were rescued by fire department teams. Fire crews also came to the aid of citizens stranded in a minibus. Another car attempting to move through the water lost a tire, but the driver continued on their way.
