When will Erdoğan and the DEM Party delegation meet? Tülay Hatimoğulları gives a date

The DEM Party delegation began its contacts in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) today with the MHP. The meeting, which took place at 11:00, was attended by DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit. Following the MHP visit, the DEM Party delegation also met with AKP officials. While the meeting between the AKP and the DEM Party lasted 2.5 hours, Bakırhan stated that the process, which began on October 22 and continued with the call on February 27, is progressing positively.

Hatimoğulları announced that a meeting between Erdoğan and the DEM Party is planned to take place after the Ramadan Feast. No statement has been made by the AKP yet regarding Hatimoğulları's remarks.

Following the MHP visit, the DEM Party delegation visited the AKP. In the meeting, which lasted approximately two hours, the AKP delegation included Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, and Group Deputy Chair Özlem Zengin. After the meeting, Abdullah Güler stated, “We had a sincere, friendly conversation. We shared our mutual assessments regarding the process.”

In the statement she made after the visits, Hatimoğulları used the following expressions:

''Our views regarding the trustee law are clear. We conveyed our views on this matter to both the AKP and the MHP. We did not receive a clear answer, but the taking of mutual steps toward democratization in the coming period was discussed. In all likelihood, we will hold a meeting with the President after the feast.''

Recalling Erdoğan's words that he would take measures against provocations, Bakırhan added the following to his remarks:

''Peace should not be tested by such acts of sabotage. Such things can happen, but how one stands against them is what is important. We have brought this process to this point with all our joint efforts. Peace, to which 85 million people in Turkey will contribute, will make everyone happy.''
