When will the Imrali delegation visit terrorist leader Öcalan? Contradictory statements from AKP and DEM

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, accelerating the second peace process he architected, had announced that if the commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly did not decide to go to Imrali, he would not hesitate to go there himself with three of his colleagues.

Following Bahçeli's statement, a vote was held in the peace commission to visit Imrali. The commission approved the visit to Imrali with 32 votes.

The delegation that will meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan will include Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman from the AKP, Istanbul Deputy Feti Yıldız from the MHP, and Kars Deputy Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit from the DEM Party.

While public attention is focused on when and how the delegation will travel to Imrali, the pro-government newspaper Türkiye reported that transportation to the island would be provided by helicopter from Istanbul.

While the official permission of the Ministry of Justice is required for the deputies in the Imrali delegation to travel to the island, it was learned that the application in question was made yesterday and the permit was granted.

AKP sources noted that the visit to Imrali Island would take place on Tuesday or Wednesday. According to a report by Sözcü, while AKP's Hüseyin Yayman stated that the meeting could take place tomorrow or Wednesday, DEM Party sources said, "We have not received any information."
