Which football team does CHP Chairman Özgür Özel support?

The Super Cup final between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray in Saudi Arabia was canceled after permission was denied for Atatürk t-shirts and banners.

CHP leader Özgür Özel had said the following in a statement he made on X:

"Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray have protected Turkey's honor against those who were negotiating with the Saudi administration over Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

I invite all our people to welcome our teams with Atatürk photos and Turkish flags upon their return to Istanbul."

Previously, CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Veli Ağbaba had received a major backlash from the yellow-navy fans in the Turkish Grand National Assembly by saying, "I am anti-Fener, I do not join the Speaker of the Parliament's well wishes." 

CHP's Ağbaba later announced a statement on social media where he said he was joking and apologized. In his statement, Ağbaba included the expressions, "The words I said in a joking manner to tease our Group Deputy Chairman Özgür Özel, who is a die-hard Fenerbahçe fan, were misunderstood. I sincerely apologize to the Fenerbahçe community and fans whom I unintentionally offended," revealing that CHP leader Özgür Özel is also a Fenerbahçe supporter.
