Why did the PKK not convene its so-called congress? DEM Party sources explain

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli is the architect of the new resolution process, which the government has named 'Turkey Without Terrorism,' and the public is curious about its current stage.

Terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan had issued a call for the terrorist organization PKK to lay down its arms and dissolve on February 27, through the DEM Party İmralı delegation that came to meet with him.

It had been claimed that the terrorist organization PKK would convene its dissolution congress last weekend; however, the so-called congress did not take place. The terrorist organization had stated that Öcalan should preside over the so-called congress.

While the option of Öcalan presiding over the congress is not on the table, AKP sources stated that terrorist leader Öcalan can only convey messages and that it is not possible for the congress to be convened physically.

According to a report by Ceren Bayar from T24, DEM Party sources attribute the delay of the so-called congress to differing tendencies within the terrorist organization PKK. It was stated that the terrorist organization would prolong the process until a consensus is reached.
