Wife detained in second wave of IMM operation: Harsh reaction from Murat Ongun

A second wave of operations was carried out against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) in the morning hours. Within the scope of the investigation, detention warrants were issued for 53 people, including IMM Deputy Secretary General Arif Gürkan Alpay and İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa. Among those detained was Zeynep Ayten Gözdem Ongun, the wife of IMM Medya AŞ Chairman of the Board Murat Ongun.

Murat Ongun made a striking post on his social media account regarding the events.

"I had asked 'what's next'. Apparently, there is an attack on sacred values. You detained my precious one, whose only crime (!) is being my wife, at dawn in front of my children. Weren't spouses and children sacred? Weren't they exempt from political fights?"

Continuing his statement, Murat Ongun expressed his reaction by saying, "You are heartless!"

Furthermore, addressing his friends, Ongun made the following call:

"My friends; do not leave my children alone, whose father is in prison and whose mother is in detention."
