Will Syrians return? Statement from Justice Minister Tunç
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç emphasized that the war in Syria must end and peace must be established, reiterating Turkey's support for its Syrian brothers and sisters. Tunç stated that the Syrian people should live in freedom and security, and that the end of internal turmoil in the region is their primary desire. He also expressed that Turkey respects the territorial integrity of its neighbors and will continue its determined fight against terrorist organizations.
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç made statements regarding the developments in Syria on his social media account.
Minister Tunç stated the following:
"Under the strong leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has opened its arms to the oppressed people of Syria, where civil war has been ongoing for years, has fought for the survival of innocent people, and has exerted every kind of diplomatic effort in the international arena for the region to achieve stability. Our noble and honorable nation, whose essence is kneaded with brotherhood and which carries the mark of a thousand years of unity, solidarity, and brotherhood in its heart, has become a sanctuary for the oppressed and has shone like a star before history and in the conscience of humanity.
Turkey, the hope of the oppressed and the victimized, has opened its arms to innocent people who were massacred, were in need of a slice of bread, and were fighting a battle for life and death; it has fought so that many babies and children, like baby Aylan whose lifeless body washed up on the shore, would not die, and has defended human rights on every platform.
"OUR SYRIAN BROTHERS AND SISTERS MUST LIVE IN SECURITY"
From now on, peace and brotherhood must replace war and tears in Syria, and freedom and stability must prevail in our neighboring geography. Our Syrian brothers and sisters must live freely and in security on their own lands. Our most fundamental desire is for the internal turmoil and conflicts in the region to end as soon as possible for the restoration of stability in the country.
A great duty also falls upon the international community to protect Syria's territorial integrity. The new administration to be formed in Syria must work for the national unity, territorial integrity, stability, and the welfare of its people without marginalizing anyone.
The Republic of Turkey has shown maximum respect for the territorial integrity and national security of its neighbors to date and will continue to follow the same policy with great sensitivity from now on. On the other hand, our determined fight against terrorist organizations will continue uninterrupted for the security of our country and the peace of our nation.
We will continue our struggle for the future and security of Syria and all oppressed geographies, for peace, and for brotherhood; as we have done until today, we will always stand on the side of truth, equity, and justice from now on as well."
