'Will there be a change in Turkey-US relations during the Trump era?' Hakan Fidan responds

"OUR PRESIDENT AND TRUMP KNOW EACH OTHER"

"Turkish-American relations have a deep-rooted history. There is already a high-level dialogue between the two countries based on alliance relations, regardless of who is in power. The strategic mechanism established to address issues between Turkey and the US will, of course, continue its work in the new term. Our President and US President Trump already know each other.

"I THINK THE NEW ADMINISTRATION IS READY"

The sincerity was clearly reflected in the phone call held between the two leaders immediately after the election. Our strategic dialogue with the US will naturally continue in the new term. The issues on our agenda need to be addressed in a holistic manner with a constructive understanding open to cooperation. We are ready for this. I think the new administration is also ready for this."
