Woman in Burdur critically wounded by her ex-husband with a handgun

In Burdur, 45-year-old Sadet Ö. was critically wounded after being shot with a handgun by her ex-husband. The woman, who was taken to the hospital, remains in critical condition, and a search has been launched to apprehend the suspect who fled the scene.

In the village of Çallıca in Burdur, an argument broke out for reasons yet to be determined between Sadet Ö. (45) and Veli Ö. (46), the man she had divorced some time ago. As the argument escalated into a fight, Veli Ö. shot and wounded Sadet Ö. with a handgun he was carrying.

WOUNDED WOMAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

Upon notification by bystanders, gendarmerie and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene. After receiving initial medical intervention, Sadet Ö. was taken to Burdur State Hospital and subsequently transferred to Bucak State Hospital. It was reported that the woman, who is currently undergoing treatment, remains in critical condition.

SEARCH FOR THE SUSPECT CONTINUES

Following the incident, the gendarmerie teams have launched a large-scale operation to capture the suspect, Veli Ö., who fled the scene.
