Worker affected by smoke in Manisa fire dies in hospital
A 55-year-old worker who was affected by smoke during a fire in the garden of a facility in the Alaşehir district of Manisa has lost his life at the hospital where he was taken.
Plastic crates located in the garden of a private olive processing facility in the Killik neighborhood of Manisa caught fire for reasons yet to be determined.
Health, gendarmerie, and Manisa Metropolitan Municipality fire department teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was brought under control and extinguished through the intervention of the teams.
During the fire, 55-year-old Erdal Korkmaz, who was trying to move a parked truck away from the area, was affected by the smoke.
Korkmaz, who received initial treatment at the scene and was taken to Alaşehir State Hospital, lost his life despite all interventions.
While an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, it was learned that there was no major material damage at the factory.
