Worker shuttle bus accident in Mersin: 23 injured
A shuttle bus carrying workers to the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, currently under construction in the Gülnar district of Mersin, has been involved in an accident. 23 people were injured in the crash.
A shuttle bus carrying workers was involved in an accident on the Mersin-Antalya D-400 highway in the Akdere neighborhood of the Silifke district.
According to the information obtained, the shuttle bus with license plate 33 AHG 159, driven by Ünsal G. and carrying workers employed at the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, struck the median and overturned while traveling from the direction of Antalya toward Mersin. Of the 35 people on board the bus, 23 were injured in the accident.

Upon notification of the accident, numerous ambulances, fire department units, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While the injured were transported to hospitals in Silifke by the arriving ambulances, police and gendarmerie teams took security measures in the area.
Due to the accident, fire department and highway crews conducted operations in the area. Traffic on the road was maintained in a single direction for a period of time due to the accident.
