Working hours changed in the Turkish Parliament: Negotiations on the lowest pension begin today
In a vote held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the extension of the General Assembly's working hours and the regulations to be addressed in the new week were clarified. A new schedule was adopted for the discussion of legislative proposals regarding the lowest pension and traffic fines.
The General Assembly of the TBMM has made changes to its agenda and working hours to conduct weekly legislative work more efficiently. The motion for change submitted by AK Party deputies was approved in the General Assembly with the support of the MHP. With this regulation, the discussions on the proposal, which envisages amendments to certain laws and Decree-Law No. 375, were moved forward. Within the scope of the proposal in question, increasing the lowest pension became the first item on the agenda.
According to the planning, deputies aim to complete the discussions on the proposal regarding pensions starting today and finishing by tomorrow at the latest. The TBMM will also address the articles of another proposal that increases traffic fines and includes amendments to the Highway Traffic Law. The first 17 articles of this proposal had been previously accepted. The remaining part of the articles is targeted to be completed on January 22. However, if the discussions end on this date, the Parliament will continue its work on legislative proposals on January 23.
In the TBMM's schedule for next week, a new proposal including the National Parks Law and some other laws is also included. Along with this proposal, it is planned to make regulations in Decree-Law No. 375. The Parliament will continue to work with an intensive legislative calendar in the coming days.
