'Yolyemezler' criminal organization dismantled

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the organized crime group known as the "Yolyemezler" has been dismantled as part of the simultaneous "Kafes-14" operation conducted in Istanbul, Diyarbakır, and Balıkesir.

'Yolyemezler' criminal organization dismantled

In a statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya reported that the "Yolyemezler" organized crime group, which was determined to be operating in Istanbul, was dismantled through the Kafes-14 operation carried out in Istanbul, Diyarbakır, and Balıkesir by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch, under the coordination of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Yerlikaya also announced that 19 suspects were detained in the operation.

Stating that the organized crime group was found to have committed crimes including intentional homicide, attempted intentional homicide, property damage, extortion, threats, deprivation of liberty, intentional injury, violation of Law No. 6136 on Firearms, Knives and Other Instruments, and intentional endangerment of general security, Yerlikaya shared the following information: "Within the scope of the operation, 11 unlicensed pistols, 2 shotguns, 2 automatic pistols, 23 magazines, 900 cartridges of various calibers, one bulletproof vest, 15 ski masks, 2 GPS tracking devices, various amounts of narcotics, 8 computers assessed to be used in virtual betting, and numerous digital materials were seized. The operations are ongoing."
