Youth who say 'They will leave as they came' meet for an Independent Turkey

High school and university youth, who say 'They will leave as they came' to NATO and imperialists, gathered today at Beşiktaş Peace Park and Ankara Kuğulu Park for an Independent Turkey under the leadership of the Federation of Idea Clubs (FKF).

In the statement made, it was said, "Throughout history, the youth in these lands have always stood up for their country. Just as the Mustafa Kemals grew the struggle for liberation 107 years ago, and just as the Denizes did not bow down to imperialism in '68, we are continuing the same struggle today."

The statement included the following expressions:

"We need to talk about why we felt the need for such a youth gathering today, why we came together, and why we need to come together even more. We are coming together because we know that today in this country, it is not desired for us to come together, to talk, to show solidarity, and to organize.

The government does not want us to stand side by side. Because they know that when the youth stand side by side, their voice grows and they tear down the barricades.

But that is exactly why we need to stand side by side more.

We need to talk more, we need to be in more solidarity, we need to be more organized.

Because what will change the future of this country is our power.

Today, there is an even more important reason for us to come together.

Because today, our country is being opened and marketed to imperialists by the government.

While the war in the Middle East is growing, the fate of this country is being shaped as if it were independent of us.

For the NATO meeting to be held in two months, we are expected to remain silent and watch what is happening.

But we will not be silent!

Because this country is not the country of those who remain silent, but of those who take their fate into their own hands.

This country is a country that has fought a war of independence. And the heirs of those who fought that struggle are the youth standing here today.

This is not just a matter of today. Throughout history, the youth in these lands have always stood up for their country.

Just as the Mustafa Kemals grew the struggle for liberation 107 years ago, just as the Denizes did not bow down to imperialism in '68, and just as the youth in Gezi thwarted the plans of those taking orders from across the ocean, of sects, and of imperialists, we are continuing the same struggle today.

We are carrying the flag of anti-imperialism that we took from our roots higher today.

Because we know that this fight is not just a fight of the past, but a struggle for independence that is still continuing today.

And today, perhaps we are in one of the most critical periods of our history.

Because today, our country is not only under the threat of the US, NATO, and imperialist policies. At the same time, we are also facing a modern mandate-seeking mentality inside that cooperates with this order and wants to surrender the country to the interests of others.

That is why our struggle is two-fold; on one hand, we are fighting against imperialism, and on the other hand, we are fighting against their collaborators in this country.

In the past, there were those who wanted to surrender this country to the British, and today they continue the same collaboration with a modern mandate-seeking mentality.

And these days, they hide themselves sometimes behind the flag, sometimes behind Mustafa Kemal. But we see their true intentions.

They are in an effort to change the fate of the country with their mandate-seeking dreams. We, on the other hand, will rewrite the history of our country against the mandate-seekers, collaborators, and occupiers.

Because the history of this country is not the history of the occupiers.

The history of this country is not the history of the imperialists.

The history of this country is certainly not the history of those who bow before them.

The history of this country is the history of those who resist.

The history of this country is the history of those who fight for independence.

The history of this country is the history of those who want to be Deniz, those who want to be Harun, those who want to be Mahir.

And today, that history continues here.

We are fighting the fight of millions, not a small minority.

That is why we are stronger.

We are more justified.

And that is why we have to be more organized.

Because we know that only an organized people can win.

Only an organized youth can change this order.

Only by resisting can we win.

And only then can we send the occupiers, the imperialists, and their collaborators from every corner of this country.

Because we know very well:

Both the imperialists and their collaborators will leave this country as they came!"
