YSK members conducted inspections in the earthquake zone

As part of their visits and inspections in the earthquake zone, YSK members Akgün and Kalender traveled to the city and met with election board judges, the chief public prosecutor, and other personnel at the Adıyaman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Akgün told reporters that they were visiting the cities affected by the earthquake.

"WE HAVE TAKEN EVERY MEASURE TO ENSURE THEY CAN EXERCISE THEIR VOTING RIGHTS MORE COMFORTABLY"

Stating that they were conducting on-site inspections to ensure that disaster-affected voters can exercise their constitutional right to vote in a healthy manner, Akgün continued as follows:

"In the center of Adıyaman, the number of voters has increased by around 5 thousand, and this time 191 thousand 926 voters will cast their votes at 658 ballot boxes. We have adopted positive practices to the extent permitted by law so that voters living in the earthquake zone can exercise their constitutional voting rights more comfortably. We have taken every measure to ensure that our disaster-affected voters are not victimized during this election period—both in the general, parliamentary, and presidential elections, as well as in the local government general elections to be held on March 31—and that they are comfortable while exercising their constitutional rights."

Stating that they have carried out the necessary work to ensure that voters can cast their votes in a comfortable environment, Akgün said, "We are already in constant communication with the field. We also wanted to see it for ourselves on-site. A serious earthquake occurred here; schools were destroyed, and some of our voters went to other provinces. We have introduced facilitating practices for both their return and for them to vote where they are currently located."

MEASURES APPLIED IN CONTAINER CITIES

Making a statement regarding the measures taken in container cities, Akgün noted the following:

"We have also taken every measure to ensure that our citizens living in container cities can vote more comfortably. Furthermore, we have carried out all necessary work for places where votes are cast and ballot boxes are placed, including schools and other facilities that were destroyed, by receiving support from the governorship and other public institutions."

The YSK members later visited Adıyaman Governor Osman Varol and received information about the ongoing work in the city.
