While the fact that Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir, daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) President Kerem Kınık, is being tried without arrest in a traffic accident that caused the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki and left three others injured has shaken public conscience, a banner that drew attention during the May 1st Labor Day celebrations has become a trending topic on social media.
Zehra Kınık Demir, daughter of former Kızılay General Manager Kerem Kınık—who became the focus of criticism following the sale of tents by Kızılay after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 6th—caused the death of 17-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki and injured three others after hitting a motorcycle in recent months.
The expert report regarding the accident was completed by the Forensic Medicine Institute's Traffic Specialization Department and submitted to the case file. The report emphasized that Zehra Kınık Demir was "primarily at fault" in the accident.
The next hearing of the case will be held on May 26th at the Istanbul Anatolian Courthouse 8th High Criminal Court.

While the incident continues to resonate widely with the public, a citizen appeared at the May 1st Labor Day celebrations with a banner that read "Zehra Kınık may appear" alongside an "exclamation" mark. This banner, which made a reference to traffic safety, also found a wide response on social media.
