Zeydan Karalar responds to claims of tension with Vahap Seçer

As preparations continue for the May Ordinary Assembly Meeting, which will determine the new administration of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB), discussions regarding the candidacy process have come to the fore. Some claims suggested that there was a disagreement between the Mayors of Adana and Mersin Metropolitan Municipalities.

Ahead of the election, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar clarified rumors that there was tension between him and Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer regarding the TBB Deputy Presidency. Responding to a question on the matter, Karalar said, "Mr. Vahap is our brother; there is no such thing. Such an agenda never existed. We wish the other side success as well, but we will win."

While the election process to determine the TBB president, specialized commissions, the assembly council, and committee members continues, claims that the relationship between the two mayors had deteriorated had been brought to the agenda in political circles.

The rumors in question flared up following a meeting held by CHP mayors on April 25, with claims that Vahap Seçer did not look favorably upon Karalar's request for 'reinstatement to duty.' Following these allegations, Karalar made a clear statement, emphasizing that there was no dispute or coldness between them.
