27-year-old industrial giant supplier declares concordat!

Ekol Soğuk Çekme Demir Çelik A.Ş., which provides services to Turkey's leading industrial organizations, has filed for a concordat with the Bakırköy 3rd Commercial Court of First Instance due to a financial bottleneck. The court has issued a three-month temporary grace period, effective from June 2, 2025. The company's future will be clarified at the hearing to be held on September 2, 2025.

Ekol Demir Çelik is known as a company that provides services to major firms such as Arçelik, Tofaş, Ford Otosan, Türk Traktör, and Aselsan. However, it was forced to enter the concordat process due to recent financial difficulties. The court stated that the company had filed its application in accordance with the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law and decided to take the necessary measures to protect its assets. Kamber Kaya, Yeşim Turan, and Nejla Ergür have been appointed as temporary concordat commissioners.

THE COMPANY'S FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN

At the hearing to be held on September 2, the company's financial situation will be examined in detail, and a decision will be made on whether the concordat process will continue. This process may allow for the company's restructuring.

Ekol Soğuk Çekme Demir Çelik A.Ş. serves many sectors from automotive to heavy machinery with products such as hot and cold drawn flat bars, qualified steel, carbon, and structural steels. The company's chairperson of the board, Elif Tülay Korkmaz, has been holding this position since 2012. Korkmaz also plays active roles in the Young Business People Association of Turkey and the Turkish-American Business Association. Korkmaz, who has a significant share in the success the company has achieved to date, stated that the concordat application became inevitable due to financial difficulties.
