5 different scenarios for the minimum wage hike: Here are the figures on the table
The minimum wage hike, which concerns millions of employees, has not yet been finalized. As we head into the final week of the year, the hike scenarios for the minimum wage have emerged.
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission held two meetings on December 11 and December 18.
Although the commission is expected to hold four meetings, the date for the third meeting has not yet been announced, despite there being only one week left until the end of the year.
NO FIGURES EMERGED FROM THE FIRST 2 MEETINGS
While the government announced that there would be only one minimum wage hike in 2024, no figures emerged from the commission's first two meetings.
As millions of employees eagerly await the third meeting of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, the hike scenarios for the minimum wage on the table have also emerged.
5 DIFFERENT HIKE SCENARIOS
- With a 35 percent hike, the minimum wage would be 15 thousand 392 liras
- With a 40 percent hike, it would be 15 thousand 962 liras
- With a 45 percent hike, it would be 16 thousand 532 liras
- With a 50 percent hike, it would be 17 thousand 103 liras
- With a 55 percent hike, it would be 17 thousand 673 liras.
HOW MUCH IS THE MINIMUM WAGE?
The minimum wage is currently applied as 13 thousand 414 liras and 50 kurus gross per month for one worker, and 11 thousand 402 liras and 32 kurus net after taxes and deductions.
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE MINIMUM WAGE TO THE EMPLOYER?
The total cost of the minimum wage to the employer is 15 thousand 762 liras and 4 kurus for one worker. Of this, 13 thousand 414 liras and 50 kurus constitutes the gross minimum wage, 2 thousand 79 liras and 25 kurus constitutes the social security premium, and 268 liras and 29 kurus constitutes the employer's unemployment insurance premium.
