Access ban on 15 high-follower social media accounts

The Advertising Board of the Ministry of Trade has taken a new decision against illegal betting and gambling advertisements. In this context, an access ban decision was issued for 15 accounts on social media that were advertising illegal betting and gambling.

In the statement made by the Ministry, the following expressions were used: "At the 365th meeting of the Advertising Board, which operates under the Ministry of Trade, held on January 13, 2026, illegal betting and gambling advertisements continued to constitute one of the main agenda items of the meeting. As a result of the evaluations made by the Advertising Board, it was decided to implement an access ban measure regarding 15 high-follower social media accounts that were determined to be advertising illegal betting and gambling and directing consumers to various illegal sites. Furthermore, it was decided to make the necessary applications to the relevant institutions in order to initiate judicial investigation processes regarding the parties involved in the aforementioned social media accounts and illegal betting and gambling sites."

ACCESS BAN ON 26 WEBSITES

Additionally, the statement, which also provided information regarding accounts engaged in advertising activities similar to fortune tellers, mediums, and astrologers, included the following expressions:

"Another important topic on the agenda of the 365th meeting of the Advertising Board was the advertising and promotional activities regarding services offered by fortune tellers, mediums, and astrologers. In this context, it was decided to implement an access ban measure against 26 websites determined to be engaged in advertising activities regarding services offered by fortune tellers, mediums, astrologers, and the like."
