Administrative fine of up to 10 thousand liras for using measuring instruments with expired inspection stamps

The Regulation on the Inspection of Electricity, Water, and Gas Meters, prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, has been published in the Official Gazette.

According to the regulation, gas meters that were placed on the market or had their last inspection between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2019, must be reported by users to the Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology by the end of February 2024.

Subsequently, these meters will be removed by the end of 2025 and replaced with meters that have a valid inspection.

Failure to do so will result in administrative action against the meter user in accordance with the Law on Measures and Adjustments for the act of using a measuring instrument with an expired inspection stamp.

The law stipulates an administrative fine of up to 10 thousand liras for the use of measuring instruments with expired inspection stamps.

The regulations will enter into force on January 1, 2024.
