Affecting millions of citizens: Cem Küçük gives a figure for the lowest pension

While the raise rate for civil servants and civil servant retirees was determined to be 49.25 percent, this figure remained at 37.57 percent for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.

Due to the 15 percent collective bargaining agreement and inflation difference, an 11-12 percentage point gap emerged between SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees and civil servant retirees.

CEM KÜÇÜK GIVES A FIGURE FOR THE LOWEST PENSION

While millions of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees are eagerly waiting to see what the lowest pension will be, journalist Cem Küçük, known for his proximity to the government, shared inside information regarding the welfare share to be paid to retirees.

Speaking on a live broadcast on TGRT Haber, Küçük said, "There was a raise of nearly 50 percent for civil servant retirees. Civil servants and the minimum wage were also raised by nearly 50 percent, but SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees remained at 37.5 percent. Specifically, the issue of the base salary has not been resolved."

Küçük continued his remarks as follows;

"Let us state here that the situation of those receiving the lowest salary needs to be addressed by resolving that base salary issue and bringing it to a level of at least 11 thousand 500 to 12 thousand TL. The salaries of other SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees also need to be topped up to 50 percent for there to be justice. We keep saying it; setting aside the election and everything else, there must be justice. In terms of justice, this needs to happen. For 1 year, retirees receiving the lowest salary have only received a raise once. In the last 1 year, inflation is at 70 percent, and if we look at food, it is in the 80-90 range... Even if we take the state and TÜİK as a basis, it is around 75 percent."

WHEN IS THE ADDITIONAL RAISE FOR RETIREES?

A legal change is required for any raise to be made to pensions beyond the inflation data. The legal change to be made is expected to be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) after January 16. In this context, it is anticipated that the raise rate will be clarified within January, and if pensions are paid before that, the difference will be transferred to accounts later.
