Agreement between the Meat and Milk Board and Köfteci Yusuf! Prices have been announced

The Meat and Milk Board (ESK) has signed its first imported meat supply contract of the year with Köfteci Yusuf, known for its widespread branches across Turkey. According to a report by Halk TV, under the agreement, ESK will supply Köfteci Yusuf with carcass meat obtained from cattle imported from South America at a price of 510 TL per kilogram, including VAT.

Köfteci Yusuf, in turn, has committed to selling the ground beef produced from the carcass meat purchased from the Meat and Milk Board at 750 TL per kilogram, and beef cubes at 850 TL per kilogram. These prices were mutually determined in the commercial protocol signed with ESK.

Turkey has accelerated its import measures to support the supply of animal products following the rapid price increases experienced recently. After the sudden rise in red meat prices in the last quarter of last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry began importing additional slaughter cattle from several South American countries, primarily Uruguay.

While the carcass meat price applied to Köfteci Yusuf in 2025 was set at 410 TL per kilogram, this figure has been increased by 25 percent to 510 TL in the new contract as of 2026. This increase represents a 100 TL hike in imported carcass meat.

It is stated that ESK will continue to make similar agreements with various retail and restaurant chains to ensure that meat obtained through imports is offered to the Turkish domestic market at affordable prices. Such practices are intended to control fluctuations in meat prices and facilitate consumer access.
