Agricultural producer prices rose by 52.66 percent annually in December

Agricultural producer prices rose by 52.66 percent annually in December

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the December 2023 Agricultural Producer Price Index (Agriculture-PPI) data, which shows that the Agriculture-PPI increased by 6.34 percent in December compared to the previous month. An increase of 52.66 percent was recorded compared to December of the previous year. According to the twelve-month averages, there was an increase of 72.04 percent.

When evaluated by sector:

There was an increase of 1.86 percent in forestry products and related services,

An increase of 2.62 percent in fish and other fishing products,

And an increase of 6.55 percent in agriculture and hunting products and related services.

In the main groups:

There was a decrease of 1.98 percent in perennial crops,

An increase of 4.96 percent in live animals and animal products,

And an increase of 11.81 percent in non-perennial crops.

Among the subgroups with low annual increases, fibrous plants and cereals (excluding rice), legumes, and oil seeds stood out, while oil fruits and live poultry and eggs were among the subgroups with high increases. Additionally, citrus fruits were the only subgroup that showed a decrease compared to the same month of the previous year.

On a monthly basis, fibrous plants and paddy rice stood out among the subgroups with low increases, while vegetables and melons, roots and tubers, and live poultry and eggs were among the subgroups with high increases.
