AKP may give civil servants and retirees what they want for votes

Memur-Sen is demanding a 25+20 percent raise for 2026, a 10 thousand lira increase in base salary, a 10 percent welfare share, and a 23 thousand 400 lira holiday bonus from the government. However, it is stated that the government does not look favorably upon these demands.
According to the report by Korkusuz, experts emphasize that civil servants and retired civil servants should use the power they possess in this process. This large group, consisting of approximately 4 million civil servants and 2.5 million retired civil servants, states that they could change their voting preferences if their demands are not met. It is noted that the AKP may be forced to meet these demands in order not to lose the votes of this group to remain in power. It is known that in similar situations before elections in the past, the government has met demands by straining the budget.
