AKP pushes the button for privatization: That firm authorized for July 15, FSM Bridge, and at least 9 highways
It is claimed that the privatization process for two major bridges in Turkey, along with numerous highways, has been initiated. It is stated that international consulting firms have been tasked with the process.
It has been alleged that the operating rights of the July 15 Martyrs Bridge, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and at least nine toll highways will be privatized. According to the claims, the international consulting firm Ernst & Young has been authorized as a consultant within the scope of the process. The firm will guide the government in the sale transactions of the bridges and highways.
According to a report by Bloomberg News citing sources close to the matter, the Canada-based BTY Group will provide consulting services on technical issues during this privatization process. There is no clear information yet regarding the stage of the project or the details of the roadmap.
It is stated that the government plans to officially launch the privatization tender process later in the year. However, no statement has been made by official authorities on this matter so far.
