All eyes on TurkStat: Civil servant and retiree salary differences becoming clear

With the inflation data for January, February, and March, the market expectation for April is at the 3 percent level. If this forecast materializes, the four-month inflation difference for civil servants and civil servant retirees will reach 12.29%.

On the other hand, the calculated raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in this scenario will be 13.36%. These rates are based solely on projections made using the data from the first four months. The final rates will be finalized once the inflation data for May and June are announced.

WILL THE LOWEST RETIREE SALARY INCREASE?

Whether there will be a change in the lowest retiree salary will be clarified by political decisions in the coming period. Once the inflation data for the first 6 months is complete, a possible increase to the lowest retiree salary may come to the Parliament's agenda. If the proposal passes through Parliament and is approved by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette, the lowest retiree salary, which is currently 14,496 liras, could rise to a higher figure.

All eyes are on the TurkStat data to be announced tomorrow. Both civil servants and retirees are waiting to clarify the salary increases they will receive based on the calculations to be made. The final picture will emerge with the data for May and June.
