Announced on social media: Minister Şimşek is heading to the Gulf

The economic administration, constrained by the crisis and bottleneck in the national economy, continues its search for hot money. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, who met with investors in Paris, the capital of France, announced that he will visit Gulf countries at the beginning of the week.

Sharing details about the visit on social media, Şimşek stated the following:

“We fit a lot into our one-day visit to France yesterday.

In this context, we first met in the morning with members of MEDEF, France’s largest business association, hosted by BNP Paribas Chairman of the Board Jean LEMIERRE.

Later, hosted by Societe Generale, we explained the Turkish economy and our program to France-based investment funds and senior bank executives managing approximately 4 trillion euros.

We also held a meeting with my friend, Mr. Fatih BİROL, President of the International Energy Agency, regarding the outlook of the global energy market.

We held consultations with the French Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Bruno Le MAIRE, on how to increase our bilateral trade and mutual investments.

Finally, last night at the France-Germany Forum, we explained investment opportunities in Turkey to the CEOs/CFOs of around 70 companies.

France is among the top 10 countries with the most international investment in Turkey.

Our meetings with investors will continue with our visits to Gulf countries at the beginning of the week. The purpose of our visits is to explain our country’s new program and to attract permanent investments that will provide employment and high added value.”
