Approval granted by BRSA: Famous retail chain to establish its own participation bank

According to the decision taken by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) on June 11, 2026, and published in the Official Gazette on June 17, 2026, official permission has been granted for the establishment of a participation bank with a capital of 10 billion liras. Following the positive evaluation of the necessary examinations and documents, the bank has completed the legal processes.

The unique feature of the new Dost Katılım Bankası A.Ş. is that it has no partners other than the group companies of BİM, a powerful name in the retail sector. Among the founders of the bank, in addition to BİM Birleşik Mağazalar A.Ş., are Desto Atık Yönetimi A.Ş., Dost Global Danışmanlık A.Ş., GDP Gıda Paketleme Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., and Es Global Gıda Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş.

All these companies within BİM operate in various fields. Dost Global Danışmanlık A.Ş., which is a bank shareholder, has played an important role in BİM's international investments since its establishment in 2019. While GDP Gıda Paketleme Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. carries out product supply and packaging for chain stores in the basic food category, Es Global Gıda Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş. operates the group's biscuit and confectionery production facility in Eskişehir. Desto Atık Yönetimi A.Ş., which was structured in July 2024, is responsible for the management of industrial waste in BİM stores.

With the approval of the BRSA, Dost Katılım Bankası is preparing to begin its operations in the Turkish financial sector with the support of a strong consortium entirely owned by the BİM group.
