Asian stock markets track economic data from the region

Asia-Pacific markets are mostly trading lower ahead of a week of inflation data across the region and South Korea's third-quarter gross domestic product figures.

Singapore and Australia will release their September inflation figures on Monday and Wednesday, respectively, while Japan will release Tokyo's inflation figures on Friday. Tokyo's inflation is considered a leading indicator of nationwide figures.

In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.81 percent in Monday morning trading, extending last week's losses and accelerating into its third consecutive losing session.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index lost 0.37 percent, while the Topix lost 0.13 percent. South Korea's Kospi traded just below the flat line, while the Kosdaq bucked the trend, gaining 0.51 percent.

Hong Kong markets are closed on Monday for a holiday, but China's CSI 300 index continued its decline, falling 0.46 percent and surpassing its lowest level in a year.
