Attention card and loan debtors: Those who miss today will not be able to benefit

The legal application process specified in the decision taken by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) for individuals experiencing payment difficulties with credit cards and consumer loans ends today. Within the scope of the regulation announced at the beginning of the year, it has become mandatory for individuals planning to restructure their debts to apply by the end of business hours on Wednesday, April 29.

Citizens can apply to bank branches or digital banking channels to take advantage of this opportunity offered to them. Once the necessary procedures are completed, existing debts are restructured according to the newly determined conditions.

The types of debt included in the scope cover those who cannot pay the minimum amount of their credit card statement and cardholders who cannot pay off their total debt. In addition, consumer loans taken out before January 29, 2026, that have not been paid for at least 30 days are also included in the restructuring scope.

Within the scope of the restructuring, debts can be paid in installments with a maximum maturity of 48 months, taking into account the financial situations of the individuals. It was reported that the interest rate to be applied has been set at a maximum of 3.11%, not exceeding the monthly reference rate.

Borrowers who apply for restructuring will be able to create a suitable payment plan by contacting the relevant bank. It was announced that after the approved installment process, the delay information in the credit risk records of those who make the first payment will be updated.

Applications will only be accepted during today's business hours. Applications made after this period will not be able to benefit from the current restructuring scope.
