Bad news for retirees expecting a flat-rate raise! AKP official puts an end to the debate

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared 2024 the 'Year of Retirees', yet millions of retirees have been condemned to poverty-level wages.

With the lowest pension set at 10 thousand TL and holiday bonuses at 3 thousand TL falling short of expectations, retirees have been left disappointed.

While claims that the government would implement a flat-rate raise for retirees as a pre-election move created expectations among the public, AKP Sivas Deputy and Group Deputy Chairman Abdullah Güler made a statement that will upset retirees.

"THE AK PARTY HAS NO SUCH WORK UNDERWAY"

Speaking to Büyük Sivas Haber TV, Güler stated, "If our Ministry and our President wish to present such a study, we will be informed. But we do not have a flat-rate raise of 5 thousand or 10 thousand as the opposition claims; we have no such work underway. I do not know what they based this on, what figures or budget data they used as criteria. The AK Party has no such work in this direction."

AKBAŞOĞLU HAD POINTED TO JULY

AKP Group Deputy Chairman Muhammet Emin Akbaşoğlu also said in a program he attended the other day, "We will definitely make arrangements regarding retirees at the end of June or the beginning of July. We will carry out work by taking their demands into consideration."
