Bad news for vehicle owners: Price hikes for gasoline and diesel

The recent rapid rise in Brent crude oil prices and exchange rates has directly affected fuel prices in Turkey. In line with the new decision, the price of gasoline was increased by 53 kuruş per liter, and the price of diesel was increased by 1 lira and 4 kuruş per liter. The price hikes were reflected at the pumps as of midnight.

On the European side of Istanbul, the price of a liter of gasoline rose to 63.45 liras, and the price of a liter of diesel rose to 66.31 liras. On the Anatolian side, gasoline began to be sold at 63.31 liras per liter, and diesel at 66.17 liras per liter. In Ankara, gasoline took its place on the shelves at 64.42 liras, and diesel at 67.44 liras. In İzmir, the price per liter of gasoline became 64.70 liras, and diesel became 67.71 liras. There was no significant change in LPG prices; a liter of LPG is sold for 31.99 liras in Istanbul and 31.97 liras in Ankara.

  • Ankara: Gasoline 64.42 TL, Diesel 67.44 TL, LPG 31.97 TL
  • İzmir: Gasoline 64.70 TL, Diesel 67.71 TL, LPG 31.79 TL

The fluctuations in the exchange rate and the rise in international crude oil prices are cited as the basis for the increases. Experts point out that prices may continue their volatile course in the coming period due to the global supply-demand balance and geopolitical developments.
