Behind the scenes: Claim that the lowest pension has been determined
While millions of retirees are eagerly awaiting their new year salaries, claims circulating behind the scenes suggest that pensions will be increased by 50-52 percent and the lowest pension will be raised to 10 thousand liras.
As high inflation, exchange rates, and the cost of living erode the Turkish Lira day by day, millions of retirees have turned their eyes to the rate of the salary increase.
Comprehensive regulations for pension increases will be implemented at the beginning of the year.
According to the column by Gazete Pencere writer Nuray Babacan, it is claimed behind the scenes that the lowest pension will be raised to 10 thousand liras.
It is stated that AKP officials expect an average increase of 50-52 percent at the beginning of the year. However, according to those who say the treasury will resist, this rate will be 45 percent.
BONUS FORMULA FOR RETIRED FARMERS
Babacan also stated in her behind-the-scenes report regarding the bonus given to non-working retirees in November that reactions continue regarding the exclusion of working retirees from the bonus, writing: "We learned that a formula has been found to pay bonuses to retired farmers upon the President's instruction. It is stated that no legal regulation is required for this and that the issue will be resolved by issuing a communiqué. Do not be surprised if they soon announce the mistake they corrected as 'good news for farmers.' Let us also recall that the President, upon learning of this deficiency, was angry with his team."
