Beşiktaş records best annual performance of all time on the stock market
Shares of Beşiktaş Futbol Yatırımları Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, traded on Borsa Istanbul, gained 621.6 percent in value in 2023, marking the best annual performance in its history.
The sports index, which recorded a 92 percent increase last year, peaked at 4,930.21 points.
Beşiktaş shares gained 621.6 percent in value in 2023, showing the best annual performance of all time. Having closed 2022 at 5.94 liras and reaching 42.86 liras by the end of 2023, Beşiktaş's share price thus increased 7-fold.
Beşiktaş's share price also saw an all-time high of 58.50 liras last year.
Beşiktaş, which maintained a consistent performance on the pitch under the management of Şenol Güneş during the 2022-2023 season, also displayed an effective performance on the stock market after Rıza Çalımbay was appointed as head coach towards the end of the year following the start of the 2023-2024 season.
Fenerbahçe Futbol AŞ, which is at the top of the Trendyol Super League, and its title rival Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticari Yatırımları also pleased their investors on the stock market last year.
During this period, Galatasaray earned its investors 46.5 percent, and Fenerbahçe 25.5 percent.
Last year, Galatasaray's share price saw a historical peak of 9.58 liras, and Fenerbahçe's share price reached 142.10 liras. Rises were observed in the shares of sports companies along with sponsorship agreements and the transfers they carried out.
Trabzonspor Sportif Yatırım ve Futbol İşletmeciliği, on the other hand, caused its investors to lose 7.8 percent last year.
Analysts pointed out that Trabzonspor's shares have been losing value for 2 years. Trabzonspor had also lost 21 percent in value in 2022.

During this period, Fenerbahçe's share price on the stock market decreased by 25.4 percent, Galatasaray's by 20.2 percent, Trabzonspor's by 20.1 percent, and Beşiktaş's by 16.5 percent.

Beşiktaş was followed by Fenerbahçe with a market capitalization of 9 billion 51 million 721 thousand liras, Galatasaray with a market capitalization of 6 billion 804 million liras, and Trabzonspor with a market capitalization of 2 billion 540 million liras.
