BIST 30 index-based contract starts the day with a 0.2 percent decline at 8,445.00 points

The December-dated index contract traded at 8,445.00 in the opening session, 0.2 percent below the previous normal session close.

The index contract, which followed a bearish trend yesterday, completed the normal session at 8,463.25 points, 1.4 percent below its previous close. The index contract was at 8,445.75 points in the evening session.

Analysts stated that global equity markets are following a positive trend as pricing regarding the US Federal Reserve (Fed) potentially starting interest rate cuts by May at the latest next year continues, and the probability of a "soft landing" continues to strengthen.

On the other hand, international credit rating agency Moody's reported in its "Credit Opinion" report on the Turkish economy published yesterday that Turkey's credit rating outlook could be revised to positive if the tight monetary stance is maintained.

The report stated that the return to more orthodox policies following the May elections is positive in terms of credit, while noting that it will take time to reduce significant macroeconomic imbalances.

Analysts noted that a busy data agenda will be followed today, primarily the consumer confidence index domestically, and inflation in the UK and the CB consumer confidence index in the US, adding that technically, 8,400 and 8,300 points are support levels for the index contract, while 8,500 and 8,600 levels are resistance positions.
