A first in Borsa İstanbul history: It surpassed 9,000 points!
As the upward trend continues at Borsa İstanbul, it surpassed 9,000 points for the first time in its history during today's trading, reaching an intraday peak of 9,016 points.
The BIST 100 index began the day gaining 0.48 percent to reach 8,993 points; it subsequently maintained its gains and pushed its all-time high to 9,016 points. As of 10:20 AM, the index was trading at 9,006 points, up 0.63 percent.
At the opening, the banking index recorded a 0.25 percent increase and the holding index a 0.49 percent increase; they later traded with a 0.02 percent decline and a 0.71 percent rise, respectively.
From a technical perspective for the BIST 100 index, 9,000 and 9,140 points are positioned as resistance, while the 8,900 and 8,800 levels serve as support.
Yesterday, the Borsa İstanbul 100 index followed a buying-weighted trend, finishing the day with a 1.21 percent gain at 8,949 points to set a closing record.
