Boycotted on the streets, but profitable on the stock market

As conflicts continue along the Israel-Palestine front following Hamas's October 7 attacks, protests and boycotts have taken place in many locations.

Following boycott calls on social media, many people in Turkey, in particular, purchased Coca-Cola and poured it on the ground, citing its alleged Israeli origins. However, while these developments were unfolding, it emerged that Coca-Cola was the stock that provided the highest returns to investors on Borsa Istanbul during the first week of November.

In the first week of November, the stock that brought the highest gains to investors on the stock exchange was CCOLA. The stock, which rose by 13 percent on a weekly basis, climbed to 418 TL. The stock reached as high as 429 TL during the week, hitting a record level.

WHAT HAPPENED ON THE STOCK MARKET LAST WEEK?

Borsa Istanbul, which completed the week with a 0.55 percent gain at 7,705.99 points, maintained a trend on Friday, November 3, where certain stocks provided gains to investors. The BIST 100 index started the day flat, followed a sell-weighted trend, and showed a slight upward movement with buying that arrived toward the end of the day.
