Bread price hike in İzmir
Bread prices have increased in İzmir. It has been announced that bread, with its weight increased from 200 grams to 220 grams, will be sold for 9 liras, marking a 2-lira price hike.
The İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO) has decided that the price of 220 grams of bread in member bakeries will be 9 liras. The İZTO January Ordinary Assembly Meeting was held in the chamber's assembly hall. A vote was held in the assembly for the maximum bread price tariff.
In the new tariff proposal, it was suggested that the weight of bread be increased from 200 grams to 220 grams, and its price be raised from 7 liras to 9 liras. As a result of the vote, the proposal was accepted unanimously. The new tariff will be effective in İZTO member bakeries starting tomorrow. In İzmir, the price of 200 grams of bread had become 7 liras on July 3, 2023.
