Breaking News: Central Bank announces the fourth interest rate decision of the year

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) convened under the chairmanship of Fatih Karahan.

Following the meeting, the interest rate decision, which the markets were waiting for with anticipation, was announced at 14:00.

The Central Bank MPC kept the policy rate unchanged at 37 percent.

WHAT WERE THE EXPECTATIONS?

The predictions of the vast majority of economists that the policy rate would be maintained at its current level have been confirmed.

Looking at the year-end policy rate expectations, the median estimate in the markets stands out at 35 percent.

IT WAS ALSO KEPT UNCHANGED IN APRIL

At the last meeting held in April, the Central Bank did not make any changes to the interest rate and kept it unchanged at 37 percent again.

WHEN IS THE NEXT MPC MEETING?

The next Monetary Policy Committee meeting is scheduled to be held on July 23.
