Central government budget posts 129.2 billion lira deficit in September

According to data released by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the central government budget posted a deficit of 129.2 billion TL in September. In the January-September period, the budget deficit reached 512.6 billion TL.

Central government budget posts 129.2 billion lira deficit in September

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has announced the budget realization results for September.

Accordingly, the central budget posted a deficit of 129.2 billion TL in September. While budget revenue was 441.2 billion TL in September, budget expenditure was 570.4 billion TL.

While budget expenditures for September increased by 99.8 percent compared to the same month last year, the increase in budget expenditures was 113.2 percent annually.

The central government's primary balance posted a deficit of 58.5 billion lira in September. Additionally, 14 billion TL was transferred from the central budget to BOTAŞ in September.

512.6 BILLION TL DEFICIT IN THE FIRST 9 MONTHS

In the January-September period, the central budget posted a total deficit of 512.6 billion TL.

During the January-September period, total revenue was 3.43 trillion TL, and total expenditure was 3.95 trillion TL. In the same period, non-interest budget expenditures were 3.4 trillion TL, and the primary deficit was 41.7 billion TL.

TAX REVENUES

In September, tax revenues were 386.2 billion TL, and general budget non-tax revenues were 46.608 billion TL.

Tax revenue collection in September 2023 increased by 122.6 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 386.2 billion TL.

The realization rate of tax revenues according to the budget estimate was 7.9 percent in 2022, while it was 9 percent in 2023.
